Meet Pastor Schmitt
Rev. Thomas Schmitt began his time of service to St. John's in the summer of 2013, coming to us from Zion Lutheran in Omaha, NE. He loves getting to know his new friends and neighbors as he carries out the office of soul-healer, teacher, and leader. A graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis (Master of Divinity), Pastor brings with him nearly 25 years of experience in congregations of various sizes and situations, and has loved them all. In addition, he is a graduate of DOXOLOGY, the Center for Spiritual Care and Counsel (www.doxology.us).
Pastor can be found greeting St. John's School and Childcare families in the morning and at pickup and occasionally working the desk at the Childcare entrance. He teaches Confirmation three times a week and leads the weekly School Chapel program at St. John's. He is an enthusiastic volunteer at our school and sports events. Pastor Schmitt also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Theology at Concordia University - Wisconsin where he leads an introductory course on the Bible.
When not in his office, you might find our pastor out walking the many trails of the area with his wife, Mary, working in the various gardens around his house next to the church, or enjoying a night of grilling and chilling on his back deck.
